Meet the newest member of the National Elementary Honors Society

Kylie was inducted into the NEHS the other day. 

She was kind enough to allow me what she calls "the obligatory fake smile picture". Such a smarty pants.

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope all of you have a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and happiness.

Jumping on the cakepop bandwagon

The other day I finally got around to using the cake pop pans my mother in law bought me for Christmas. Sophie's teacher has a different parent send a special snack on Fridays and last week it was my turn. Since she decreed that the kids were not to have any sweets for Valentines day I was bad and sent sweets for snack. Cause,  you know I'm a rebel like that.

 I have to admit that while they were kind of fun I think I'm probably going to stick with cupcakes from now on.

Monday

You know it's Monday when......

• Your six year old refuses to eat her breakfast because "I've been eating the same stuff for a year now and I'm tired of it."
• You check your email and find that half of them are from AARP.
• You're riding your bike and your neighbor flies out of their driveway without looking behind them and you nearly kill yourself trying to brake and get out of the way.
• You spend a couple hundred dollars on groceries over the weekend, yet when you open the fridge you realize you're completely out of milk.
• You open the laundry room door and the pile of laundry is taller than you are.
• You open your childs backpack only to find two library books that were supposed to be read over the weekend. 
• You step on the scale and realize you've managed to gain a pound over the weekend. (yes, I broke down and finally bought a scale)
• You realize that your neighbors dog is still using your front yard as it's own personal bathroom

Success

 After months of practice it finally happened. 

Who knows? Maybe she'll get to be in that video after all.
